I had to work late last night, so I didn't leave the office until 5:30. As I was walking out, I remembered that I had forgotten to take anything out for dinner, so I called The Agent to see what he wanted me to pick up. He gets off work at 4:30 and he has to pick up the kids, so I figured he would be almost home by then.
He was still at the office. He was in a meeting that was running long.
"OK, well I'll get Bug and you get BK and I'll see you at home," I said.
"I don't think I'm going to be able to get out right now," The Agent answered.
"It's already 5:30. I can't get to both kids' schools by 6 pm," I argued.
"Honey, I'm in the middle of a meeting," The Agent repeated. "I can't leave."
"Fine. I'll figure it out." And I hung up.
By driving only slightly above the speed limit, I was able to make it to Bug's school and then to BK's preschool, with 3 minutes to spare. So, everything was fine. But I was still annoyed. What if I hadn't called? When was he going to figure out that he needed to pick up his children?
The Agent has an extremely stressful job, and I get that. If he had called me at 5, I would have had no problem going to get the kids (in fact, that's what he had done the night before). But he didn't even call. He forgot.
I want his children to be at the very front of his mind at all times, with me a close second.

deep breathes in-out-in-out now hugs I get it men just don't think at all my hubby actual forgot our little one at school once and I was forgotten at school once as well
I am pretty sure I couldn't have helped you off that ledge, I would have been livid. I am assuming you came down the ledge, how did that go when he finally came home?
Men can be jerks...Just a fact of life kind of like 'dogs smell' or 'life is a beach'.
My friends ex didn't pick up her daughter from school one day so they called me. My friend is a massage therapist and was unreachable that hour.
No biggie but it was her ex's weekend. And he spaced. Said since he saw his daughter last Saturday night it wasn't his weekend. And that she would have to pay him $10/hour to watch his own daughter!
So I guess what I am trying to relate is it could be worse.
Still sucks though.
